Swansea Loan Switch According Caulker

Swansea have signed an agreement with Tottenham, which will see the defender Steven Caulker Wales to join the club on a loan of the season.

The 19-year-old impressed in previous loan spells at Yeovil and Bristol City and will strengthen the defense of the Swans' following their promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

England Under-21 international will pen to paper next week on an agreement to be reviewed in January.

City Chairman Huw Jenkins said the club's official website: "We are delighted to have agreed terms with Tottenham about a deal for Steven.

"The agreement was very close to the last two weeks. I met (Tottenham chairman) Daniel Levy in a meeting of the Premier League in Darlington and spoke at length about Steven.

"We believe that its overall size and the possibility of having the perfect features to add to our team.

"Steven is a young player to come, there is a great talent and he looks forward to being a part of our team in the Premier League.

"It 'an exciting signing for us. There was more interest in him before a lot of it has been agreed, but believes that Tottenham was perfect, Steven will continue his trial here.
