Micah Richards denies talk of wages

Micah Richards Manchester City defender has dismissed speculation that he wants £ 100 000 for a week before signing a new contract.

The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract and is negotiating with the City on the.

Reports have suggested that Richards is seeking a six-figure salary per week, something the England midfielder - currently on tour with the City in America - he strongly denies.

"I noticed that one of the (newspaper) had been claiming this weekend that I was demanding £ 100,000 a week, before signing a new contract in the city," Richards told the club's official website.

"And 'nonsense. They do not know what was said, offered or requested, so instead they form only a character who gets all think I'm greedy.

"It's boring, but I think it goes with the territory these days."
