Arsene Wenger has given his thoughts on ESPNSTAR.com understanding in new purchases, Carl Jenkinson and Japanese star Ryo Miyaichi.By Kelvin Tan in Kuala Lumpur
After becoming the first signing Wenger was following a £ 1,000,000 move to Charlton, Harlow, born in Finland Under-19 international has not been shy about his ambition to excel in north London, earlier assumption that seeks to follow in the footsteps of Arsenal legend Tony Adams.
Speaking at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Wenger revealed his thoughts on Jenkinson, and how he thought the player can develop under his tutelage.
"He needs time to adapt to the club," said the Frenchman, before going back Bacary Sagna blatantly right to satire.
"Hopefully Jenkinson might even push Sagna here for a start on the first team," said the official, who left his compatriot, sitting to his left, embarrassed smile after a burst of laughter from the press.
He also gave an overview of the direction of his thoughts on Miyaichi is revoked after a loan period with Dutch side Feyenoord and brought to their pre-season in Asia.
18 years, was signed by Arsenal in January of this year, and immediately loaned to Eredivisie side, where he soon became known as "Ryodinho" of his tricks, and movies.
Wenger praised the Japanese youth and said: "It was such a surprise fanstastic!"
Miyachi Chukyodai Chuyko had played high school team in his first major league pitch with Arsenal and the Arsenal manager was impressed with how he progressed so quickly.
"Coming from high school football, he was very good.
"Miyaichi is a very interesting opportunity for a quick brain, and we must do well," added Wenger.
It also took some time to welcome Emmanuel Frimpong Arsenal back to the fold.
A comparison with Chelsea's Michael Essien in the form of his playing style was the midfielder's Ghana-born defense is supposed to have a chance in the 2010-11 season, after Wenger was impressive last in the Emirates Cup, but suffered a bad time of anterior cruciate ligament injury in August that he ruled out for the season.
"I am delighted to have him (Frimpong) back," said French, said. "He was really unlucky with injuries last season"
Wenger also spoke about the latest addition to the team Arsenal, Gervinho, which was signed in Lille last Thursday, according to the French.
"Gervinho is effective and very productive with the passes of the objectives, as you can see your stats. This should be very useful for us," said the Arsenal manager.
