Cole: Chelsea Can Win The Double This Term

Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has set his sights on winning both the Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League next season.

In a clear sign of intent to the club prepare for the new director André Villas-Boas first season in charge, Cole is determined to recover from the disappointment of last season without silverware.

Moreover, the England international believes Chelsea can go further and say the only trophy that has eluded them so far constanlty - the Champions League.

This season, the battle for the top prize in European football as Barcelona dominated Manchester United complete a 3-1 victory.

Even if the boat were assigned an excellent team, Cole does not feel unbeatable.

"I do not think we are becoming detached from United and Barca are beatable," Cole told the Sun.

"I went to the finals of the Champions League and thought United would win.

"The game was amazing how Barca, like a machine, and you can see why people think they are unbeatable."

Cole believes, however, luck has played a role in Barcelona's recent success, highlighting Chelsea in the semi-final exit with the Catalan club two seasons ago as a classic example.

"We should have beaten in the semifinals two years ago when we had three penalties denied."

Chelsea will also seek to wrest the title back from United Premier League this season, and Cole regrets 2-1 result at Old Trafford, where all but the trophy then head to Manchester.

It also reveals the Premier League remains his main objective, despite the hunger Roman Abramovich to win the Champions League.

"I still believe if we had won at Old Trafford a couple of weeks before the last season we won the championship.

"Personally, I prefer to win the championship every year as the Champions League."

Controversy since his arrival at Stamford Bridge from Arsenal in 2006, Cole has made over 200 appearances for Chelsea, and is widely regarded as one of the best turn left at the moment.
