Aldridge: Torres passed its best

Former Liverpool player John Aldridge fears that may have seen the best, Fernando Torres during his time at Anfield.

Chelsea, 27, moved to Liverpool for a staggering £ 50 million in January.

But he got the worst possible start to his career at Stamford Bridge, scoring one goal in 18 games last season Blues.

Many expect the Spaniard to be back up is working on the next season, but Aldridge can not see that happening.

"Everyone seems to say he will be back to his best next season, but I can not see," said Aldridge, according to The Mirror.

"I do not think Torres could return to what it was in Liverpool two seasons ago. He lost a yard of pace.

"He paints, of course - but not one in every 1.5 games as he did when he arrived in Liverpool and it was huge.

"Chelsea fans should not expect to be like he used to be. It will not happen."

Check out Torres' from last season, Liverpool have broken the hearts of the faithful Anfield. Aldridge, but he thinks that is a sense of relief now.

"Now I look back it was a relief Torres left. He was not interested," said the 52 years.

"He has not played well for a long time now."

Chelsea kick off the season Barclays Premier League Stoke City after August 13, while Liverpool host Sunderland.
