De Gea Inspired by Van der Sar

Madrid - David de Gea flattered by the news of Manchester United will make it as areplacement for Edwin van der Sar. Atletico Madrid goalkeeper admitted he wasinspired by the achievement of Van der Sar.

De Gea is touted as the strongest candidate the new Manchester United goalkeeperVan der Sar after retirement. 'Red Devils' reportedly still in negotiations with theassociated transfer camp Atletico De Gea. Reports in Spain say that Manchester United have agreed a transfer value of 20-year goalkeeper, which amounted to 21 million euros.

"Those things do not make me interested, either numbers, clauses, and price," said DeGea told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The value of that really matters is that there is in the field, not the value you they say," he added.

"Money is a secondary matter, so it is very expensive is not something I like. I am more interested in what people think about my appearance on the field," continued De Gea.

De Gea himself admitted he was flattered to be nominated as the successor to Van derSar. He hope to be like Van der Sar, who kept playing until the age of 40 years.

"The fact they consider me as a substitute for a great goalkeeper is something I like.But, it is important to continue to struggle and work hard because we were just there at the beginning and to reach that level there are many things to do," said De Gea.

"Let's hope (I can play like Van der Sar at his age). At this time, it's becoming difficult,but I wanted to like it," he added.

"I need strength, luck, and keep my body because football will 'eat' you. But, let's hope,"he added.
