Wenger defends Pique Xavi

Gerard Pique Barcelona teammate Xavi was in his comments about Cesc Fabregas, who started the criticism of Arsene Wenger.

Xavi said last week that Spain Fabregas colleague had just said that it was "suffering''because of his desire to return to the Catalan club.

These observations have led to the Arsenal manager accusing him of being disrespectful Xavi, Piqué, but I do not think that was the case.

"Barcelona and the players have always spoken with great respect. Any player suffers when it` s all about his future because of the uncertainty of not knowing where he will play. To say this is not a lack of respect for anyone, "Pique was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Sport.

The world champion, who like Cesc left Barcelona as a youngster, before returning later to the Camp Nou, also feels much speculation about the midfield and if the Gunners will move back to the club this summer.

"I know what the situation, but I think we need Cesc to live in peace and let things take their course. The summer is very long, there has been much discussion and don` t help at all, "he added.
