Pique appeals for patience Cesc

Gerard Pique has admitted that Barcelona has to be patient in their attempts to get Cesc Fabregas at Camp Nou.

The transfer saga of the summer is even closer to a conclusion.

Fabregas wants to leave, but so far the Champions League winners do not come with an offer acceptable to the Arsenal skipper.

And Pique, whose movement back to Barcelona to Manchester United three years ago has borne fruit in some incredible, consider that the agreement should be allowed to run its course.

"All the signings have their fair trial," said the Spanish defender.

"Some are easy, some are more complicated.

"It's an important player for Arsenal so it makes sense to try to keep it.

"There was much discussion on this subject, which is normal.

"It 'better than the negotiations will take time and see what happens."

Team-mate Xavi certainly does not buy into the belief that the emergence of Thiago, who made both goals in Barca win the Audi Cup hosts Bayern Monaco in the middle of the week, would be detrimental to the arrival of Fabregas'.

"There will be games for all players," said the midfielder brilliant.

"In any event, Thiago is compatible with Fabregas."

After landing in the early morning hours, Barcelona had to abandon a scheduled workout in the shadow of the White House based on the protocol, this morning.

However, they are still a couple of days to shake the jet lag from their systems before facing Manchester United in a repeat of last season's Champions League final.

Pique describes the success of Barcelona at Wembley in May as "luck", an approach that contrasts with the vast majority of observers who simply felt United were dominated completely, a view shared by Xavi.

"We were better. Much better, "he said.

"We dominated and had the ball, which is part of our philosophy in Barcelona.

"Our coach said after we had a team more, and I agree."

Barcelona has entered the U.S. without star man Lionel Messi, the Copa America campaign with Argentina ended only two weeks ago.

"Clearly we will need a long season ahead. It makes sense for us to rest at this time," said Xavi.
