Hiddink: Chelsea need to be patient

Former Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink believes that Roman Abramovich should follow the example of Manchester United.

Hiddink wants Chelsea owner to give his manager the time to settle at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues had seven different directors since Abramovich took over the club in 2003, Hiddink as coach of the Guardian in 2009 after the dismissal of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Other Villas-Boas is the last man to be handed the reins, with the Portuguese to replace Carlo Ancelotti during the summer.

And Turkey coach Guus Hiddink hopes that 33 years gets the chance to prove to the Russian billionaire.

"If you look at Manchester United, are the example that clubs need stability," the Dutchman was quoted by several English newspapers.

"That's what Chelsea need too. I said to Roman, and I think they are convinced that good now.

Hiddink believes Villas-Boas can overcome youth and inexperience to make his mark on Chelsea.
