Blues Benayoun to recognize abuse

Chelsea filed a complaint of abuse received by Yossi Benayoun in the game last week against a Malaysia XI.

After reviewing the match, with Benayoun every touch was booed, the club believe the abuse was directed at Israel, international anti-Semitic in nature and are, therefore, appeal to the FA of Malaysia.

One said: "Notwithstanding the most fans behave appropriately in the night, we think that Yossi was subjected to anti-Semitic abuse by some fans during the match.

"Such behavior is offensive, completely unacceptable and has no place in football.

"The club has made representations at the time it was initially unclear as to the nature of the abuse of Yossi received several players from both teams suffered similar treatment, sometimes stronger and longer. However, after taking time to consider the issue altogether, it became clear that a formal complaint was necessary.

"Our stay in Malaysia was overall a very positive experience for all teams in pre-season tour. It 'a shame, because the behavior of a minority of fans is also a reminder, we take away."

Malaysia as a country is a staunch supporter of Palestine and does not recognize Israel.
