Afellay on a quiet Tottenham link

Barcelona director Ibrahim Afellay has been silent for more entries for the link to move to Tottenham.

The Dutch international arrived at the Camp Nou from PSV in January, but is struggling to find its way into the first team of Pep Guardiola.

Spurs are believed to have been the sole purpose of 25 this summer, with reports suggesting they have made an offer.

And while Afellay insists he is focused on Barcelona, the Dutch stopped short of denying that Tottenham made an offer.

He called the speculation was true, he told AS: "Look, if there is something that is clear is that the rumors are part of football and we must learn to live with them, but now I'm just focused on Barcelona.

"I know (reporting) because I read reports from England. People call and say they have seen a thing."

Afellay, which is linked to a four and a half years in Barcelona, was also attracted interest from Juventus and Lazio this summer.

However, the midfielder insists he is happy with the European champions and eager to get more regular first team action.

"It's perfect. I feel happy. In sport, I hope to express my full potential," he said.

"(Playing above) is my intention, of course. I want to play as much as possible."
